We use a product in the US for our oldsters called Dasuquin and it really seems to help "old bones". Don't know if you can get it in the UK/Ireland. But it really helps our oldsters. All the best!!!

Interesting conundrum regarding the back wall - to say the least. And can I just say I am awed at what you two have taken on with this property! Long after I had finished watching the episode I was still thinking about that back wall; I mean it can't be just left - some sort of fix needs to happen or in all likelihood it will gradually continue to get worse. My solution (on first inclination) was that the wall needed exterior buttressing - then I slept on it. This morning I watched this segment again and came up with another solution. Instead of just doing buttresses at either end of the leaning wall why not extend the 'buttresses all the way out; take the wall down between them and use the stone to rebuild the wall further out? This solves the problem AND provides the basis for Emily's extension. The stone from the falling down internal wall could be re-used in this project as well. I am thinking that you might still need some more stone - but incorporating a much larger (feature) window would help keep this to a minimum and could provide a nice look for the room as well. Given that you are also planning on re-vamping the bathroom extension at some stage maybe these two projects could be linked? I am then thinking that the roof on that back side could be run from the ridge all the way out to caver the extensions - and that might further enhance Louise's attic bedroom space (which I love by the way)?' None of this thinking pays ANY attention to the reality of a limited budget, but hey - I love the creative possibilities !!!! Now I will be hanging out to see if you a) read this, and b) what you might think about it. Wow - this feels sort of like it could be digital televised interaction at a distance (given I'm in Australia and you are in Ireland. By the way I have taken on some building / renovation projects in the past that felt big enough at the time - but which pale into insignificance compared to yours!

If there is a weird sound or voice or feeling creep while camping solo in the forest just get into your tent or shelter or rv, zip it up/close the door and sit silently until it goes away. don't forget to load your gun or unsheathe your blade in case the situation escalate or endanger your life. or you can run if possible.

Hopefully AJ will adjust to the colder wetter climate, which is never that brilliant for aching joints. Let him lie in the sun as often as possible, if he wants to ❤
